Gus Tai is a venture partner at Trinity Ventures, where he specializes in advising early-stage companies and supporting entrepreneurs at the time of company formation. A Forbes Midas List recipient, Gus has an established track record for helping founders build teams and refine businesses.

Throughout his noted career, Gus has backed many pioneering companies including Blue Nile (IPO), Bulletproof, Cyrus Biotechnology, Markforged (IPO), MaxPoint (IPO), Photobucket (acquired by FIM), Truaxis (acquired by Mastercard), and Zulily (IPO). He has had early stage investments become publicly tradedin four successive decades since the 1990’s.

A veteran in the world of investing, Gus joined Trinity Ventures in 1996 from Bain & Company where he served as a management consultant. Previously, he was a manager at Digital Equipment Corporation and an analyst at Goldman Sachs.

Gus holds a BA in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University and a MS and MBA from MIT’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Sloan School of Management, respectively.
